White wine - Les Cretes - Petite Arvine Valle d'Aosta Dop Format: Glass bottle 75cl White wine - Les Cretes - Petite Arvine Valle d'Aosta PDO - Data sheet Grapevine: white, Petite Arvine 100% (traditional variety) Production area: Champorette and Bufferia of Aymavilles, Frissonnière of Saint Christophe. Terrain (type, exposure, elevation): moraine, loose, sandy slope with west/south exposure. Altitude from 550 to 750 metres above sea level First year of production: 1992. Annual production: 25,000 bottles. Area, form of cultivation, planting density, yield: Approx. 6.50 ha, Guyot system; 7,500 ft. per hectare planting, rows of vines with cordon and row cropping. Yield 10,000 kg/ha. Grape harvest: manual, early October. Vinification: Chilling and soft whole cluster pressing of the grapes, 12-day fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature (14 °C). Maturation 'sur lies' for 2 months. Sensory notes: brilliant, straw yellow. The nose is floral (jasmine, peony), with notes of apple, plum and citrus fruits. On the palate savoury, balanced, with mineral nuances Curiosity: Petite Arvine is a traditional late-ripening grape variety. Its name comes from the variety - Arvine - and the small size (petite in French) of its grapes. This wine is characterised by an intense minerality and salinity. Serving temperature: 8/10 °C. Recommended glass: Tulip. Combinations: marinated tuna carpaccio, linguine with pesto, sea bream in salt, salmon trout with herbs, also suitable as an aperitif.
