White wine - Les Cretes - Neige d'Or Valle d'Aosta Dop Format: Glass bottle 75cl   White wine - Les Cretes - Neige d'Or Valle d'Aosta PDO - Data sheet Grapevine: white, Petite Arvine 60%, Pinot Gris 40%. Production area: Several vineyards in Valle d'Aosta. Age 30 years. Terrain (type, exposure, elevation): moraine, loose, sandy slope with various exposures. Altitude from 350 to 700 metres above sea level. First year of production: 2015. Annual production: 2,500 bottles. Area, form of cultivation, planting density, yield: Approx. 0.80 ha, Guyot espalier; 7,500 ft/ha planting, vine row with cordon and row pattern. Yield 6,000 kg/ha Grape harvest: manual, second half of September. Vinification: selection, chilling and soft whole cluster pressing of the grapes; fermentation partly in 30 hl French oak vats and partly in 300 L French oak barriques. Maturation 'sur lies' for 12 months and bottle ageing for 18 months. Sensory notes: straw yellow with golden hues. On the nose fruity, floral and spicy. Harmonious, consistent and complex on the palate with a lingering finish of great elegance. Curiosity: Neige d'Or is a rich blend of white grapes, selected and vinified with the experience of more than 40 years, on different varieties with different types of ageing. It is the result of a combination combining the specific characteristics of Petite Arvine, aged in large barrels, and Pinot Grigio, aged in barriques. The name Neige d'or, Neve d'oro in Italian, is inspired by the preciousness of the cuvée and the whiteness of the snow that whitens the Valle d'Aosta Mountains. Serving temperature: 13/15 °C. Recommended glass: Grand ballon.
