At the beginning of the year, low temperatures created the perfect conditions for the vines to rest for the winter and for pruning activities. The vegetative resumption began at the beginning of March, about 15 days earlier than the seasonal average; this anticipation was also maintained for the subsequent phases, from flowering to fruit set, thanks to the rather high spring temperatures, which were maintained throughout the month of May. At the beginning of June, a few brief rainfalls mitigated the dry period, fortunately guaranteeing the necessary water supply to face the summer period. The summer, in fact, after two rather anomalous years, returned to the Sicilian tradition, with dry and very hot days and a considerable temperature range at night. This climatic trend, which continued until the end of September, ensured full ripening of the bunches with an interesting aromatic evolution of the grapes. The wines promise to be characterised by marked minerality and pleasant acidity.Harvest start: 27 August End of harvest: 30 September Rating: Good Find out more: To find out more about Sicilian wines, products Torrisis and the culinary traditions of Sicily, we recommend you visit our blog, full of interesting and overwhelming articles recounting its many facets.
