Vegetative awakening and fruit set benefited from the mild spring temperatures, which ended in May with the arrival of some heat waves. The summer was very unusual for Sicilian rhythms, with heat peaks over 40°, but with significant temperature swings and light rains in September that caused a delay in the harvest of 10 days compared to previous years.
